Next Door Wine (“Next Door Wine,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit nextdoorwine.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

01 Who We Are

Next Door Wine is a family-owned estate vineyard based in Calistoga, California, in the heart of Napa Valley. We have produced organic and vegan estate-grown wines since 2008. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Next Door Wine is the “controller” responsible for your personal information collected through this Site.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, you can reach us at ralph@nextdoorwine.com.

02 Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

Information you provide to us

When you contact us by email, subscribe to updates, or otherwise communicate with us, you may voluntarily provide information such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting and content-delivery providers, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location
  • Browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view, links you click, and the date and time of your visit
  • The website or source that referred you to us

Cookies and local storage

We use a small amount of browser storage to remember your age verification and cookie preferences, and—only where you consent—to understand how the Site is used. See Cookies & Tracking below.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 21.

03 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and your experience on it
  • Respond to your inquiries, requests, and messages
  • Verify that visitors meet the legal drinking age and comply with alcohol-related laws
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Site and prevent fraud or abuse
  • Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

04 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

Cookies and similar technologies (including browser local and session storage) are small data files stored on your device. We use them in the following ways:

  • Strictly necessary storage: We store your age-verification confirmation for the duration of your browsing session and remember your cookie-consent choice. These are essential to operating the Site responsibly and cannot be switched off.
  • Performance and analytics: Where you provide consent through our cookie banner, we may use analytics to understand aggregate, non-identifying patterns of Site usage so we can improve it.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can decline non-essential cookies using the banner presented when you first visit. Disabling certain storage may affect how the Site functions.

05 How We Share Information

We share personal information only in the limited circumstances described below:

  • Service providers: We rely on trusted third parties to host and deliver the Site, such as our website hosting and content-delivery network and our font and media delivery providers. These providers may process limited technical data (such as your IP address) solely to provide their services to us.
  • Legal compliance: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Next Door Wine, our customers, or others.
  • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
  • With your consent: We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time and with your consent.

06 Third-Party Links & Social Media

The Site contains links to third-party websites and social media platforms, including Instagram and Facebook. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. When you leave our Site or interact with a third-party platform, we encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

07 Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to satisfy any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.

08 Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including serving the Site over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09 Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion or correction of your personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law.

EEA and UK residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information, and the right to data portability. We process your information on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interests in operating the Site, and our legal obligations.

How to exercise your rights

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at ralph@nextdoorwine.com. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

10 Age Restriction & Children's Privacy

This Site is intended solely for individuals who are at least 21 years of age (or the legal drinking age in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
